Master Study

So I was at my job in the school library early this week when I came across a book full of great 19th century paintings. While looking through it I came across Carlos de Haes' "The Mancorbo Canal in the Picos de Europa" and was immediately inspired. So in an effort to get back in touch with digital painting (which I've for some reason been dispising lately...), I decided to do a study of the masterwork in Painter X. It started out as more of just a color/value study but I just kept on working on it. In any case, I feel like I at least learned a lot from doing it, so I think that makes it something of a success.
